6th Erbil International Autoshow 4-7 March 2015
Commercial Vehicles and Spare Parts Exhibition
Once more the spectacular and much-awaited Erbil Autoshow opened its doors on the 4th March, 2015 for the 6th consecutive year. Erbilia Online Magazine was there with our reporter and photographer Mr. Mustafa Adil, to cover the event and take some stunning photos of the most amazing vehicles that were on display.
Since 2010, when the show first started in Erbil, there have been several major improvements, while the number of visitors has been increasing from year to year. Erbil Autoshow is one of the most significant auto shows in the Middle East as it attracts visitors not only from the Kurdistan Region, but also from several Middle Eastern and Arab countries. Apart from stunning, new supercars and spectacular racetrack simulators, this year, visitors to Erbil Autoshow were able to admire a large variety of high-end hybrid, SUVs, customized and commercial vehicles some of which will be released to the market in the months or years to come.
Moreover, visitors who were interested in spare parts and accessories were be able to find what they were looking for. From new heating and cooling automobile systems to all kinds of electric or electronic components and from cutting edge navigation, audio and entertainment systems to highly functional dash boards and beautiful seats and upholstery.
Another important aspect of the auto show is the use of new technologies for the manufacturing of electric and battery operated vehicles as well as the production of alternative fuel systems. Service providers were also present in the auto show, and visitors were able to get information about leasing, financial and insurance companies, installation of anti-theft systems and maintenance services.
The show is organized by Pyramids Group Fair, a reputable company that specializes in organizing different fairs in the Middle East and Northern Africa. The company was established in Cairo in 1993, and today they organize about 50 different fairs per year in many countries in the above-mentioned areas. They now own 6 offices, in Baghdad, Basrah, Ankara, Istanbul, Cairo, and Erbil.
Erbil Autoshow was open until 7th March and during these four days more than 15,000 visitors attended. Held at the Erbil International Fair Ground, one of the most modern venues in the city, which extends over an area of approximately 47,000 square meters. It is very close to the city center and the beautiful Sami Abdulrahman Park.
Opening hours were from 12 p.m. to 8 o’clock in the evening. Admission to the show was only for professionals of the automotive industry, such as importers and manufacturers, machinery engineers and technicians of all kinds, garage proprietors and service executives, transport companies, state and municipality authorities, marketing companies, and many more. Admission was free and entry was done by either completing a registration form or by presenting a business card. Children under the age of 12 were not allowed to visit the Erbil Autoshow.
