These Are The Weird Scents People Love

People are weird, we all know that. But you know what’s more weird? The things we like to smell.

Just this morning I was talking to my BFF and she told me that her newest babe, has the stinkiest poop. She told me she liked the smell of her first babe’s poop, but not her newest. But that’s ok, Daddy likes the newest babies poop smell. Yuck.

But that’s not the only weird thing people like to sniff. Here are some of the weirdest things people like the scent of.

Gas

My brother. The gas you get from the pump for your car, he loves it. Me? Not so much.

Chlorine

Call it fresh or clean, some people love it. Other people think it smells like chemical. It does smell like straight chemical, almost like bleach. And if you go to a hotel with an indoor pool, the only thing you can smell is chlorine. It’s stifling really. (Can you tell I’m not a fan of this weird smell?)

Metal

So this is a me-ism. It’s hard to explain really but something about some metals and when my skin sits against it, it smells amazing! I used to have this purse that gave me the scent. To be honest, I really haven’t smelled this smell in a long time, and yes, it’s a weird smell. But yum.

Cleaning Supplies

Well, this one isn’t too weird. After all, if you’re a clean freak, how far belong is loving the smell of cleaning products? Bleach is not a favorite usually but so many products have nice and light scents these days. Lemon, lavender, fresh linen, orange, and other citrus, really, what’s not to love?

Library Books

Carrie from Sex and the City loves the smell of old library books. They have the scent of history, paper, and old school traditions. Then there are the people who love the smell of new books, paper, and chemicalized trees. (What? They are!)

Sharpies

Gross. Really? What’s wrong with people? Especially when they have smelly markers, why oh why, would you want to sniff Sharpies? Mr. Sketch has been filling our nostrils with fun, realistic scents since elementary school, and they are still on the market for our enjoyment today. Assorted scents include black (licorice,) blue (raspberry,) brown (cinnamon,) dark green (apple,) green (mint,) magenta (raspberry,) orange (orange,) pink (watermelon,) purple (grape,) red (cherry,) turquoise (fruit punch,) and yellow (banana.)

Fresh Cut Grass

The smell of summer, blue skies, and light warm breezes. Unless you have allergies. Then it’s coughing, sneezing, and itchy, watery eyes. Are you team #freshcutgrass or not so much?

New Sneakers

The rubbery ones with a big sole and white shoelaces, you know? Not the ones from China, that smell between a mix of gas and something else..tar? No, definitely not those.

Laundry Detergent

This one isn’t so weird as laundry detergent is meant to smell good. Fake and completely fragranced, but yes, good.

The Nail Salon

And the hair salon. Gals flock to these locations for a new ‘do, fresh nails, and a fresh feel. But the smell. Not a fan. Nope. Not at all. But there are those who love these scents. They cannot wait to go in for their appointment, just for the scent!

The Barn

And cows. Growing up in Wisconsin, there was no shortage of the smell of cows. And people who work in the barns may be used to it and not smell it everyday. Well others love this smell. They think the barn smells of fresh hay, horses, and leather. This is definitely a weird scent.
